FAYETTEVILLE — The city’s animal shelter will offer free dog adoptions from March 18-26 during spring break.

The shelter is currently housing 20 adoptable dogs and puppies with more on the way, officials said, and decided to offer the free adoptions to make room for new arrivals.

All adoptions are by appointment only and applicants must first submit an online application for review. More information about that process can be found here.

All available dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated prior to going home with their new owners. Dogs are also tested for heart worms.

The shelter is located at 1640 S. Armstrong Ave. and is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
