Weekend Flyer: Fayetteville Farmers’ Market, St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, Wizard Way of the Ozarks, and more

It’s the weekend before spring break, which means some of y’all are about to be in vacation mode when the clock strikes 4:37 p.m. this afternoon. Some of you even earlier than that. Some of you have already checked out. Some of you checked out along time ago (no judgement).

Anyway, happy weekend.

Oreo Blue will kick things off for Happy Hour at George’s after work on Friday (well, at 6 p.m., not for those of you who are peace-ing out at noon or whatever). After that, the jams will continue with Friends of the Phamily and Country Jesus for the late night show. On Saturday, The 1 Oz. Jig and Mildenhall will take the stage.

Also in music this weekend, Puddle of Mudd are at JJ’s Live for a performance on Saturday night, and Nomad’s Trailside has a show featuring Vela and Fight Dream (also on Saturday).

If you want to shop but you also kind of want to dance a little bit while you do it, the best chance for that is probably either the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market, which will be back in action this weekend for their annual early ‘Spring Fling’ market from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. There are usually some talented street musicians down there that might make you shake your hips a little.

The other dance-shopping option in Fayetteville is the Full Moon Spring Market happening at 30 N. Block Avenue (the old Supernova Tattoo space) from 5-10 p.m. on Friday night. The event will include “crystals, tarot, vintage, handmade, music, food, plants and apothecary.” Here’s a bit more info.

The Hog baseball team will kick off their SEC schedule with a weekend series with Kentucky at Baum Walker Stadium this weekend. Here’s a preview.

Also in sports, might as well block off some time to watch some March Madness hoops this weekend as well. The Arkansas women play Utah in the NCAA tourney at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and the men play New Mexico State in NCAA tourney second round action on Saturday night.

There’s an unofficial Harry Potter fan convention happening at the Fayetteville Town Center on Saturday and Sunday. It’s called Wizard Way of the Ozarks. Here’s our post about the event with more details.

There’s a St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl happening on Saturday night on Dickson Street. It starts at Ryleigh’s, where you can pick up your passport after 2 p.m., and then take your time visiting the participating bars and restaurants. Once you’re passport’s been stamped by all the watering holes, you can return the passport to Ryleigh’s for a t-shirt. Here’s more info.
