FAYETTEVILLE — Several area buildings were damaged during a storm early Wednesday when a tornado eventually touched down in Springdale.
A crowd-sourced map of destruction shows what appears to be a tornado path beginning in far north Fayetteville and extending northeast just past Highway 412 in Springdale.
Damages from high winds and debris were visible along East Joyce Boulevard from the Malco Razorback Cinema across the street to Guitar Center.
The heaviest areas of destruction began on Main Drive in Johnson and continued through Springdale, where structures were severely damaged. Aerial images from storm chaser Brian Emfinger shows a downed cell tower in Johnson as well as major damage to homes and businesses in south Springdale.
