Acclaimed pianist to perform in Fayetteville April 7-8

A world-renowned pianist will perform two shows in Fayetteville this week.

Irish pianist Michel McHale, who has performed as a soloist with London Symphony, Moscow Symphony, Hallé Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra and others, will play a private show for residents of Butterfield Trail Village on Thursday, and a public performance at 7 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church (4511 Wedington Drive, Fayetteville) on Friday.

McHale’s work has been widely broadcast via radio and television throughout Europe, Asia, North America and South America. His discography of over 25 albums includes concerto recordings for Chandos and RTÉ lyric fm, chamber music on Cedille, Delos and Champs Hill and solo recitals on Grand Piano and Ergodos, including a recent release featuring Beethoven’s “Moonlight” and “Appassionata” Sonatas.

He has played at many of the most prestigious music festivals, such as the BBC Proms, the Tanglewood Festival and the Tokyo Spring Festival – and at venues such as Symphony Hall Boston, Lincoln Center New York, Wigmore Hall London, Berlin Konzerthaus and Suntory Hall Tokyo.
