Weekend Flyer: Hayes Carll, VoiceJam, Startup Crawl, and more

There’s a lot going on in Fayetteville again this weekend. Better put on your party pants.

There will be bands playing on the street downtown as part of the Startup Crawl we mentioned earlier this week. The event will include several local businesses offering open houses with a local craft beer at each stop, plus musical performances by The 1 oz. Jig, JukeBoxx, Thrifty Biscuits, and Akeem Kemp. George’s has a happy hour show with what has to be one of the longest running party bands in Arkansas and may be the world, Ultra Suede. Later on, local rocker Randall Shreve will play the late night show. On Saturday, songwriter Hayes Carll will be back in town for a performance on the big stage. How about some outdoor music at Mount Sequoyah Center? The first Music on the Mountain show of the year is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday night with artist Cliff Avenue. You can BYOB or picnic dinner up there if you’d like, too. Here’s more info.

Music returns to the backyard at Kingfish this weekend, with Old Man Saxon, BAANG, and Jasper Logan on Friday night.

Smoke & Barrel also has music again this weekend, with Atlanta-based synth-pop band DOTS, Fayetteville fuzzy rockers, Gardensnakes, and synth-instrumental act RINGS on Friday night.

In theatre, it’s the last weekend to check out TheatreSquared’s hilarious show Tiger Style!, plus the Smokehouse Players will be performing their new show, Love Letters, at the Ozark Mountain Smokehouse this weekend, and UA theatre has a new show, Ride the Cyclone this weekend.

How about a comedy night? Boston Mountain Brewing will host one with comedians Dan Alten, Jeremy Hellwig, and Benji Nate on Friday night.

Walton Arts Center has a couple shows this weekend, including their annual VoiceJam a cappella competition on Saturday night, and jazz artists Tower of Power on Sunday night. Ticket info for the Walton Arts Center shows is here.
