State’s ‘Free Tree Fridays’ to include Fayetteville giveaway on April 22

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division will host its latest round of “Free Tree Fridays” this weekend with an event in Fayetteville on Friday, April 22.

The series is in recognition of National Arbor Day, which is celebrated annually on the last Friday of April. It includes bare-root seedling giveaways at various locations across Arkansas.

The Fayetteville event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wilson Park, 675 Park Ave. It will include pin oak, Sweetgum and persimmon seedlings, according to information posted to the division’s website.

The events began in March, and will run through Friday, April 29.
