School’s out! What do y’all say we have ourselves a three-day weekend?
This one starts off with college softball, as the Hogs battle Texas for a shot at the College World Series this weekend. The Hogs got off to a good start in their series last night, beating the Longhorns 7-1 for a 1-0 series lead.
George’s will kick off their weekend with a happy hour performance by Uncrowned Kings, followed by an album release party for local band, Modeling. Our friend Roger talked to the band about the new record this week. The Phlegms and Olympics will also perform. Here’s ticket info.
Local songwriter Ashtyn Barbaree will also celebrate the release of new music this weekend with a show at the Fayetteville Public Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Here’s more info about that.
Also in local tunes, there’s a three-band bill at Smoke & Barrel on Friday night with Mud Lung, TV Preacher, and Dust Lord.
Walton Arts Center’s Artosphere festival will culminate with a big performance by the Artosphere Festival Orchestra on Friday night. The orchestra will perform An Evening of Strauss & Stravinsky in Baum Walker Hall starting at around 8 p.m. Tickets.
Up in Benton County, there’s a country/rock show with Cody Jinks and Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real at the Walmart AMP. Here’s ticket info for that one.
Also up north, Little Rock musician Adam Faucett will perform in the woods around Crystal Bridges as part of their Forest Concert Series. Here’s info.
There’s more below. Have a great weekend, everyone.
