First Thursday events set for June 2 on Fayetteville square

First Thursday Fayetteville will return to the downtown square for a new season on Thursday, June 2.

The series was set to return in May, but was canceled because of rainy weather.

The theme for this month’s outdoor festival is “In Bloom,” and will feature live music, food trucks, a kids zone, art vendors, a pop-up installation, and a community bike ride.

In keeping with the theme, a community weaving project using native grasses is planned, as well as a wildflower seed activity from the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

Scheduled music includes performances by Witchsiser, Bad Candy, and students from the School of Rock.

June’s food truck lineup includes Hype Coffee, Wicked Wood Fired Pizza, Margaret’s Juan Rose, BeaverTails Pastry, and Flavorful Kettle Corn.

This month’s Slow Roll bike ride will feature a tour of Fayetteville’s legacy trees curated by the city’s Urban Forestry Division (see route below).

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and will last until about 9 p.m.

Upcoming themes for future events include “Ozark Oasis” in July, “Dog Daze” in August, “A Closer Look” in September, and “Larger than Life” in October.
