UPDATED: Arkansas State Police investigating shooting death of 80-year-old Marion County man

  • Fayetteville Flyer · Tuesday, Jun 7, 2022

UPDATE 6/8/22: A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with this incident, according to a news release. Police said the boy is being detained in Conway until a decision is made whether to criminally charge him as an adult or to proceed with a juvenile adjudication process.

Arkansas State Police special agents are investigating the shooting death of an 80 year-old Marion County man, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

Police said Daniel W. Stine was reportedly shot in his home Monday night at 2723 Arkansas Highway 235, southwest of Yellville.

The Marion County sheriff’s department responded to a call of an intruder in the home at about 11:15 p.m. Once inside, deputies found Stine’s body, which was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death.
