2-hour closure planned at Lake Fayetteville trail for duathlon

The Lake Fayetteville paved trail will be closed to the public from 7-9 a.m. Saturday, June 11 during the Ladies Du Fayetteville duathlon.

Boat access will also be closed until 11 a.m., however the marina will open at sunrise for other services.

The sixth annual duathlon event is open to all women, non-binary and gender non-conforming athletes.

The event features a 2-mile run, an 11-mile bicycle ride and another 2-mile run, and will take place at Lake Fayetteville on the paved trails around and near the lake. Participants can compete individually or as a two-person or three-person relay team.

Online registration is open through Friday, June 10. The cost is $50 for individuals, $90 for two-person relay teams, or $135 for three-person teams. All registrations include a technical sleeveless top and a finisher medal. Event photo downloads will be provided after the event at no charge.
