It looks like another Kum & Go is coming to Fayetteville.

The Iowa-based convenient store chain is eyeing a location at 2222 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. at the site of a former Blockbuster, according to state records.

The building, which was most recently occupied by Little Guys Movers, was recently demolished to make way for the new development.

Property records indicate KG Stores 425, LLC of Des Moines, Iowa purchased the property last month for $1.7 million.

The chain already operates a nearby location across the street at 729 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., as well as two other Fayetteville stores on Huntsville Road and College Avenue.

Kum and Go officials confirmed that construction is currently underway on the new store. If all goes well, it will open sometime before the end of the year.

“Due to the nature of construction, we don’t have a specific opening date yet,” said Taylor Boland, director of communications for the company. “We’re anticipating December 2022, of course, subject to change.”
