Weekend Flyer: Will Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Shred Fest, Chamber Music on the Mountain, and more

Q: Who’s ready for a weekend? A: Everybody.

This one starts out with a happy hour performance at George’s featuring Zydeco music by Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp band. Later on, there’s an electronic show with Zebbler Encanti Experience A/V set, and on Saturday George’s will host the annual Jerry Garcia birthday bash Grateful Dead tribute featuring Forgotten Space, Friends of the Phamily, and Isayah’s Allstars.Here’s ticket info for George’s shows.

There’s a cool thing happening at Walker Park on Saturday. It’s called Shred Fest, and there will be rollerskaters, rollerbladers, skateboarders, BMX-ers, and more exhibiting their skills, along with live music by The Misdemeanors, Princeaus, and DJ Rachel. Here’s more info.

Mount Sequoyah’s Chamber Music on the Mountain wraps up this weekend with classical music performances on Friday night at Ozark Mountain Smokehouse and at Millar Lodge on Mount Sequoyah on Saturday. Find details and ticket info here.

Arkansas Latinas En Bici will hold the second annual Tour de Frida community bike event Saturday at Gulley Park in Fayetteville. The public art-inspired event celebrates the life and legacy of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. It begins at 7:30 a.m. and includes food, music, art installments and exhibitions, plus a choice of four bike community bike rides ranging in distance from 5-37 miles. Here’s more.

Centro-matic singer and songwriter Will Johnson is back in town for a show on Sunday, this time at the Fayetteville Public Library as part of the Mountain Street Stage series. It’s a 2 p.m. show. Here’s a bit more about that.

Up north, the Walmart AMP will host country artist Chris Stapleton for a show on Friday night, and comedian Tim Meadows will perform a handful of shows at The Grove comedy club in Lowel.
