The Arkansas men’s basketball team is set to play in the Maui Invitational for the first time since 2013.
The Razorbacks will face Louisville in the opening round of the tournament at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21. The Hogs will face either Texas Tech or Creighton in round two the following day. The tournament wraps up with a third round on Nov. 23.
Ohio State, San Diego State, Cincinnati and Arizona make up the other side of the tournament bracket.
The tournament has not been played in Hawaii for two years, due to the pandemic. The invitational was relocated to Asheville, N.C. in 2020, and was played in Las Vegas in 2021.
Tournament chair David Odom said it feels good to have the event back in Maui.
“While we’ve been able to keep the magic of Maui alive the last two years on the mainland, returning to our rightful home on the island has never felt so good – and we’re bringing an incredible field of teams to help us celebrate that homecoming.”
Six of the eight teams invited to this year’s event played in the NCAA tournament last season, with Texas Tech and Arizona advancing to the Sweet 16 and Arkansas making it to the Elite Eight.
It will be the Razorbacks’ fourth appearance at the event.
