Update: Officials this afternoon announced that tonight’s First Thursday festivities on the square have been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Put on your pants, and get ready for an outdoor festival, everyone. It’s time for First Thursday.

First Thursday Fayetteville will return tonight (Aug. 4) with another evening of music, art, food trucks, group bike rides, kid activities, and more.

The August installment of the event has a ‘Dog Daze’ theme, and will include a pup pageant and parade around the square.

Music this month will be provided by locals Feats of Strength (90s hits), and Jasper Logan (heartfelt hip-hop). Also in tunes, you can pop into the Pryor Center (the old Bank of America building) and check out The Juke Joint Project, a free Delta blues exhibit on display in the atrium this month. Musician Sarah Lily will also perform in the Pryor Center at around 7:30 p.m.

Food trucks this month include Wicked Wood Fired Pizza, Arkan-Thaw Ice Shavers, Margaret’s, Saguaro Southwest Grill, ShoBo’s Kitchen, Sweet Scoops Blender Bar, Hype Coffee, and BeaverTails.

There will also be a local vendor market, free yoga, a kid zone, and more.

Not far from the square, other First Thursday festivities will take place at Mount Sequoyah Center as well, including work by artists from Fenix Gallery and Creative Spaces, adoptable dogs from Fayetteville Animal Services, food from Spoon Fusion Korea Oh-K Dog, and more. Here’s more about the Mount Sequoyah event.

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and will last until about 9 p.m.

Upcoming themes for future events include “A Closer Look” in September, and “Larger than Life” in October.

For more information, check out the Facebook event.
