  • By Todd Gill · Friday, Aug 5, 2022

Members of the Historic District Commission meet in June 2022. (Fayetteville Government Channel)

FAYETTEVILLE — Officials are looking to fill 12 positions on nine of the city’s boards, commissions and committees.

The list of vacancies includes seats on the Animal Services Advisory Board, Fayetteville Arts Council, Historic District Commission and more.

All volunteers must be registered voters who reside within the Fayetteville city limits. Those who are not Fayetteville registered voters will need to provide proof of residency. All applicants must submit a new application for each board, commission or committee.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.

After the application period ends, the Nominating Committee will look over the applicants and schedule interviews with selected individuals. The committee will then make their recommendations to the City Council for final approval. And yes, some board positions are nominated by the mayor, but the application process is the same.
