It’s the highest preseason ranking for any of the four SEC teams featured in the poll.
Other conference teams to earn rankings in the preseason include Tennessee (11), South Carolina (12) and Ole Miss (18).
Last season was the most successful the team has been in program history. The Razorbacks won a season-record 19 matches, earned the program’s first trip to the NCAA Elite 8 and secured a third-straight SEC regular season title.
Arkansas defeated Kansas 6-0 in an exhibition match on Wednesday in Lawrence, Kan. The Razorbacks open regular season play against Saint Louis on Thursday, Aug. 18 in St. Louis, Mo. The team returns to Fayetteville for a home game against DePaul on Sunday, Aug. 21.
