Frisco Avenue will be closed for nearly two weeks while crews work to install a new crosswalk at the intersection of Prospect Street.

Work began on Monday, and the road is expected to reopen by Friday, Aug. 26, according to a news release.

The work is part of a project to create a bikeway connector between the Razorback Greenway and Mission Boulevard.

The 1.1-mile bikeway includes Park Avenue, Trenton Boulevard, Prospect Street and Rebecca Street.

Construction was recently completed on Trenton, which included a new crosswalk that connects to Wilson Park. A crosswalk was also added at Prospect and Wilson Avenue in July.

The city was awarded a $385,000 grant from the Walton Family Foundation to put toward the cost of the new bikeway connector. The remaining funds needed to complete the project come from the trail improvement bonds that voters approved in 2019.
