A handful of restaurants have opened in Fayetteville over the last few weeks, and a new coffee shop will open early next month.
Here’s what we know about some of the new places around town.
Tin Roof

Nashville-based restaurant and live music joint Tin Roof opened on Dickson Street last weekend.
The new place, located in the building formerly home to Hog Haus at the corner of West and Dickson Street, officially opened over the weekend. This week, several live music performances and DJs are scheduled to perform beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
Tin Roof first opened in 2002 on Demonbreun Hill, near Nashville’s famed Music Row. The idea was to create a place for musicians to perform, and also a place to hang out when they weren’t on stage. There are now at least 20 locations open or in the works for the chain.
The Fayetteville venue include live entertainment on both levels, with patio seating available both upstairs and downstairs. A parking area out back will be converted into a patio and beer garden as well.
Company CEO Bob Franklin told us earlier this year that the plan is to host live music seven nights a week from a variety of genres. In addition to the music, Tin Roof is also a restaurant, with a full menu including tacos, quesadillas, burgers, and other fare.

Girls Gone BBQ

There’s a new barbecue restaurant open on the east side of town.
The new place, called Girls Gone BBQ, is owned by self-described “humble pitmistress” Dana Neely. The restaurant is set to open in the Kantz Center, next to El Sol Mexican Restaurant at 2630 E. Citizens Drive.
Neely, originally from Des Arc, Arkansas, opened a version of the restaurant in Seattle before moving back to Arkansas in 2020.
Here’s a description of her style, according to a recent post on her Facebook page.
Our specific style includes hickory-smoked meats, tangy pre-sauced pulled pork sandwiches, Eastern Arkansas Staples like crunchy apple Arkanslaw, classic corn bread & seasonal fruit cobbler. The casual shop will highlight local beers. Having started the business in Seattle in 2008, there will be some Pacific Northwest influence on the menu: vegan & vegetarian BBQ offerings will definitely set us apart; smoked black eyed peas, grilled greens (collards & kale) & smoked vegan beans to name a few items.
According to their website, Girls Gone BBQ is open Wednesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for lunch and from 5-8 p.m. for dinner. On Sundays, they’re open from 12-6 p.m.
Queen’s Mexican Cuisine

A new Mexican food restaurant opened recently on Joyce Boulevard.
The restaurant, called Queen’s Mexican Cuisine, is now open at 3931 N. Shiloh Drive in Fayetteville, in the building formerly home to Jimmy’s Egg.
From the looks of the food posted on the company’s Facebook page, the restaurant serves unique takes on traditional Mexican dishes, along with breakfast items, lunch, and dinner.
They are open daily from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Zanzibar Kitchen

A mobile restaurant serving food from Tanzania, Kenya & Uganda is open on Township Street.
The restaurant, called Zanzibar Kitchen, is located at 50 E. Township St. in the purple trolley near the road.
They are open two days per week on Wednesday and Saturday for pick up or dining on the picnic tables outside. They’ve actually been at the location for a while, we’re told, but we’ve neglected to mention them in a restaurant news post to this point. They serve a rotating menu each week, with the Wednesday menu focusing on all-vegan offerings.
Dishes they have served so far include a coconut based maandaz, Samaki Roast, matumbo (beef tripe stew) and ugali, chicken pilau with kachumbari, peppered chicken, beef sambusa, and others.
According to their Facebook page, they are open Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m for lunch and from 4-8 p.m. for dinner, and on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Summer Moon Coffee

A new coffee shop will soon open in Evelyn Hills Shopping Center in midtown Fayetteville.
The new shop, called Summer Moon Coffee, is set open on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 1422 N. College Ave., in the southeast corner of the shopping center near Mockingbird Kitchen and Arkadia Retrocade.
The shop will be the first Arkansas location for the fast-growing Austin, Texas-based chain. The new shop is franchised locally by Kaitlyn Skinner and her family.
Summer Moon specializes in wood-fired roasted coffee, served with “moon milk” sweet cream, according to the company’s website. After starting in Austin, the company has expanded to operate about three dozen locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wisconsin.
The chain will offer free samples on their opening day beginning at 7 a.m., and the first 50 guests will receive a swag bag.
The shop will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
