Acclaimed gospel singer Fred Hammond to perform in Fayetteville

An acclaimed artist considered a gospel music pioneer is coming to Fayetteville this weekend.

Grammy-winning artist Fred Hammond along with special guests Stephen Ivey and Grammy-winning music educator Dr. Jeffrey Murdock will perform a Gospel Music Month celebration set for Sunday, Sept. 11 at Christian Life Cathedral.

Hammond is considered one of the principal figures in the Urban Praise & Worship sub-genre of music.

Throughout his professional career, Grammy-winning vocalist, songwriter, musician, and producer Fred Hammond has maintained a reputation for excellence. With over 8 million albums sold, Hammond has established himself as a mainstay on Billboard’s Gospel Chart top 10. Recent nods from Chance the Rapper, Jamie Foxx, and Justin Bieber highlight Hammond’s mainstream appeal.

The event is organized by local non-profit Music Moves, an local organization created by musician Anthony Ball with a mission “committed to educating and engaging the community by making high-quality performances of Black music accessible to everyone.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 2-10 years old. Kids under 2 get in for free.
