It’s another game weekend in Fayetteville, and this time, the Hogs will take on a conference foe. Arkansas opens SEC play at 11 a.m. on Saturday as the Razorbacks take on South Carolina at Razorback Stadium. The game is televised by ESPN.
Happy hour on Friday starts at 6 p.m. with longtime locals, Oreo Blue on the big stage at George’s. The venue will host Little Rock party band Khaki Onion on Friday night, and local 90s tribute The Mixtapes will play on Saturday night. Tickets to George’s shows are here.
Fayetteville-based songwriter Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster is set to perform on Friday night at Roots HQ on the square. Kinkel-Schuster is known for his work as the singer and songwriter for Mississippi-based band Water Liars, collaborations with Centro-Matic singer Will Johnson in Marie/Lepanto, and for his solo work. Here’s ticket info.
Smoke & Barrel Tavern has music all weekend, with Wyly Bigger and Abby Howard set to perform on Friday night, and rockers Teen Mortgage, Stash Hag, Protohive and TV Preacher on Saturday.
Music on the Mountain at Mount Sequoyah is back, and this week they’ll host She’s Us in the cottage circle on Saturday night at around 7 p.m.
Also in tunes, there’s a cool show at Prairie Street Live with a trio of local bands including Monk is King, Dazz and Brie, and Circle of Thirds on Friday night, and Kingfish has local songwriter Ashtyn Barbaree on Friday night.
Audiences have been raving about TheatreSquared’s new show It Came From Outer Space, and the show was recently extended due to it’s popularity. Here’s ticket info for that.
How about an art show? New(ish) local gallery in the NWA mall (appropriately named The Art Gallery at NWA Mall) will host an artist reception and open house at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Here’s a bit more info.
There’s plenty more below. Have a great weekend, everyone.
