Arkansas volleyball makes top 25 coaches poll for first time since 2015

The Arkansas volleyball team this week was ranked No. 24 in the AVCA’s week 3 coaches poll. It’s the first time the team has been included in the rankings in seven years.

The team advanced to 7-1 after Sunday’s win over Colorado at Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville. It was the Hogs’ sixth straight sweep.

Arkansas hasn’t lost a set since Aug. 27 when the team played then-No. 8 Washington, which was also the only match loss for the Razorbacks this season. The loss came one day after the team defeated the Huskies 3-1 in what was Arkansas’s highest-ranked win since 2007.

The Razorbacks were last in the coaches poll in 2015, thanks to a win over No. 9 Florida. A road loss at Kentucky the following week pushed the team out of the rankings.

With this week’s poll announcement, Barnhill Arena is set for a top 25 matchup against No. 7 Georgia Tech at 7 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 15). The Hogs play again Friday (Sept. 16) at home against NC State.

Tickets are available online and in person at each event.
