Weekend Flyer: Japanese Breakfast, Bowling For Soup, Goo Goo Dolls, and more

It’s Friday, mammer-jammers.

A new event in a brand new venue will debut in Fayetteville this weekend. The first ever “Fall Fridays in the Ramble” event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. in the new gathering area just finished southwest of the Fayetteville Public Library along the Razorback Greenway. The event is free, and will feature music by local duo, Dead Horse Mountain Band. Here’s more about that.

George’s will kick off their weekend with a Happy Hour featuring longtime local favs, Full House. Friday night, local band Gypsy featuring musicians Tyler Bell and Jay Reynolds will reunite for a one-night only show, and on Saturday, Finnish Country band / YouTube sensations Steve n’ Seagulls will take the stage. If you’re not familiar, watch them play Thunderstruck and you’ll catch on pretty quickly. Tickets.

JJ’s Live also has a couple big shows this weekend with Georgia-based country artist Jon Langston on Frday night, and pop/punk band Bowling For Soup coming to town for a Sunday performance. Here’s ticket info.

Smoke & Barrel Tavern has Oklahoma-based brass band, King Cabbage Brass Band on Saturday night. Check them out here.

If you haven’t seen TheatreSquared’s latest show It Came From Outer Space, you’re running out of time to do so. The show was extended from it’s original run, but it ends next week. Here’s ticket info.

Also, it’s a Razorback football weekend. The Hogs will take on former coach Bobby Petrino and Missouri State at 6 p.m. on Saturday night. Here’s a preview of the game.

Up north, there’s a huge show at The Momentary on Friday night with musician/director/author Michelle Zauner’s indie-pop act, Japanese Breakfast. The band received two Grammy award nominations last year, and Zauner is also a best-selling author who’s memoir Crying in H Mart is currently being adapted into a feature film. If any tickets remain for this one, here’s where to get them.

Also up north, The Goo Goo Dolls are in town for a show at the Walmart AMP on Sunday night, and tickets are here.

There’s more below. Have fun, buds.
