The students are back at the UA in Fayetteville, and that means it’s time for some big shows at one of the longest-running music venues in the south.

If you’ve been paying attention, you might have already noticed that George’s Majestic Lounge has been on a roll announcing big shows for the upcoming fall and winter season.

Just in the past week, the venue has announced massive upcoming shows including indie act Big Thief on Feb. 10, alt country act and Fayetteville Roots Fest performers American Aquarium with songwriter Cory Branan on Dec. 5, and songwriter Margo Price on Nov. 29 this winter.

And that’s just some of what we know of.

There’s Tulsa songwriter and Fayetteville Roots Fest vet John Fullbright celebrating the release of his new album on Oct. 26, independent country legend Pat Green on Oct. 1, and songwriter Madison Cunningham with Bendigo Fletcher on Oct. 8, and local favorites and frequent visitors Eli Young Band coming back Oct. 28.

In addition to the Big Thief show mentioned above, there are a couple more On The Map shows coming up including Titus Andronicus (featuring Little Rock native and Shake Ray Turbine / Ted Leo & The Pharmacists drummer Chris Wilson) on Oct. 12, and Detroit rockers Protomartyr on Oct. 25.

There are even some shows that can’t be contained in a single night, including two nights of Big Smith over Thanksgiving Nov. 25-26, three nights of guitarist Steve Kimmock’s new band Zero on Dec. 2-4, and a two-night showcase of some of the coolest Fayetteville (and Fayetteville adjacent) music affiliated with local label Gar Hole Records called Gar Hole-idays on Dec. 9-10.

Other big shows include Twiddle on Nov. 2, Borgore Nov. 5, Lettuce Nov. 15, Tauk Moore featuring a collaboration between TAUK and Kanika Moore on Nov. 17, and Langhorn Slim Dec. 12.

Those are just some of the highlights. The full list of upcoming shows we know about so far are below, and you can find ticket info on all of these at georgesmajesticlounge.com.

Go see some live music.
