An ice cream and burger restaurant that opened earlier this summer in west Fayetteville is currently closed.

Icescreams, the restaurant located in the bright pink building at 4280 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. has been closed for the past couple weeks, though it’s unclear whether the closure is temporary or permanent.

The Flyer began receiving tips that the restaurant was closed on Friday, Sept. 9. After stopping by, we noticed some equipment and other supplies had been removed from behind the counter, though no signage indicating the status of the restaurant was posted outside. The picnic-style tables inside the restaurant are still arranged in the dining room, and patio furniture is still set up outside.

The restaurant’s previously listed operating hours were 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily, though no open hours were listed on the company’s website as of Sept. 20. The company’s Google listing indicates that it is now open only on Fridays from 5-9 p.m., however a review left on the Google page indicates the restaurant was not open during those hours last week.

A previous version of the concept was once open in Elizaville, New York until around a year ago, according to posts on the company’s Instagram account. The Instagram page has not made reference to the status of the restaurant since it closed. The last post on the page was made on Sept. 3.

A message was sent to registered company agent Joshua Sedore last week for information regarding the status of the restaurant and as of Sept. 20, no response had been received. A message was also sent through the contact form of the website, but has not yet been answered.

Update: Sedore got back to us Tuesday morning with the following statement: “Unfortunately we ran into some lease related issues and we are closed for the foreseeable future. We will reach out with any updates,” he said.
