Two long-running long running events are coming up in Fayetteville, and anyone who loves long runs can do both races for a new prize.

The annual Chile Pepper 10k is Saturday, Oct. 1 and the Razorback Run 15k is Sunday, Oct. 2. Organizers of the events have created a new award called the Spicy Hog Double for those who can complete both races.

The Chile Pepper 10k is part of the annual Chile Pepper Cross Country festival that includes around 6,500 mostly high school and college cross country runners from around the region. The event takes place on the University of Arkansas Cross Country course, located near Agri Park in Fayetteville. Proceeds from the event benefit local high school cross country programs.

The Razor Run 15k is one of two races associated with the Razorback Run event that weekend. A 5K fun run/walk is also available. The race departs from the Northwest Arkansas Mall, and will make its way along the Razorback Greenway through Fayetteville.

Those who’d like to participate in both events, and complete the back-to-back races will receive a finisher medal sponsored by Experience Fayetteville.

Registration for the Chile Pepper 10k is $35, and the Razorback Run 15k is $50.
