There’s too much to do this weekend to be messing around making jokes at the beginning of this post. We’d better just get to it.

Spooky season is here, and that means some Halloween shows are already popping up on the calendar this weekend. Fayetteville Public Library will host a ballet and multi-media version of the Bram Stoker classic tale, Dracula by central Arkansas-based ballet troupe, Ballet Arkansas on Friday and Saturday. Here’s more info.

There’s a big show at Walton Arts Center this weekend with the musical version of the hit Reese Witherspoon film, Legally Blonde playing Friday – Sunday. Here’s a bit more about that.

Also in performances, a new show by Tony nominee and MacArthur ‘Genius’ grant winner Dominique Morisseau is now playing at TheatreSquared. The critically acclaimed play Detroit ’67 officially opens this weekend. Here’s more.

Songwriter Mary Gauthier will perform at Roots HQ on the square this weekend. It looks like some tickets are still available.

George’s will kick things off with a happy hour show featuring local favorites, Full House, followed by an Elton John tribute later on Friday night. On Saturday, the venue will host Women in the Round, a benefit for locals Adrienne Shaunfield and Bekah Smith to help cover expenses associated with their cancer treatment featuring a host of talented songwriters. Here’s more.

There’s another big show on Sunday night, when local non-profit Music Moves hosts their annual fundraiser featuring a performance by legendary group The Blind Boys of Alabama at Fayetteville Town Center. More info on the show is here.

Also in tunes, there’s a Grateful Dead Tribute called Forgotten Space performing at Prairie Street Live on Friday night, and the final Music on the Mountain show of the season is Friday night as well with a family friendly show by local songwriter Shannon Wurst in the cottage circle at Mount Sequoyah Center.

There’s a big bike race on Centennial Park this weekend with the UCI Cyclocross World Cup making a stop in town. Here’s more about that.

Also in sports, the Razorback men’s basketball team will kick off their season with a Red-White intrasquad game at 2 p.m. on Sunday. More.

There’s a bicycle poker ride. A small works art show. A puppet show in the park.

There’s a ton more below. Have a great weekend, everyone.
