Halloween falls on a Monday this year, and you know what that means, right? Four days of Halloween celebrations, that’s what.
Expect to see folks out and about in costumes at pretty much anything you see on the list below. And consider pretty much everything on the list below a Halloween celebration, whether it was meant to be or not. Fun!
George’s will kick off their weekend with music by local party band, Ultrasuede, for happy hour. Later on, country acts Eli Young Band and Parker Anthony will perform. On Saturday, the venue will host Hot Lix, an 80s hair band tribute who will be simultaneously celebrating their 10-year anniversary and their final show. On Sunday, there’s a Halloween-themed dance party called Terrorvision. Here’s more info and ticket deets.
How about a pub crawl? Several Dickson Street merchants have teamed up for a Halloween Pub Crawl visiting 11 bars on the street. It’s $20, and those who complete the crawl get a commemorative t-shirt. Here’s more info about that.
Maxine’s Tap Room has completely decked out their bar in Alice & Wonderland theme with the help of several local artists, and they’ll be hosting dance parties all weekend long.
As we’ve previously mentioned, Pinpoint on Block Avenue is in the midst of their Nightmare on Block Street month-long Halloween celebration, with a fully-decorated bar, spooky cocktails, and more.
JJ’s Live has a few fun shows this weekend as well. They’ll host local 90s tribute Dial Up along with indie synth act Modeling w/ DJ Allen.mp3 on Saturday night for one big Halloween celebration, and all-star funk band made up of people in mummy costumes, Here Come the Mummies, will play on Sunday night. Walton Arts Center will kick off their weekend with a performance by the legendary Cate Brothers, who are performing a special local edition of West Street Live in the Starr Theatre Friday night. The Walton Arts Center will also host a couple movie nights to celebrate the holiday with Hocus Pocus on Sunday, and (not technically this weekend, but mark your calendar for) the return of Rocky Horror Picture Show complete with props, costumes, etc. on Monday. There’s another dance party at West & Watson on Saturday night DJ’s Sickboy, Xolo, Vlyn, and Nugstufr.
For kids, there’s a fun event at Fayetteville Public Library called Be(A)ware Allergy-Friendly Halloween Extravaganza. There will businesses and community groups handing out allergy friendly treats, toys and more, performances, bouncy houses, and more. More info is here.
There’s a cool event on Mount Sequoyah on Saturday with some of the most talented illustrators and artists coming together for a big art/print show and sale called Death Ray Illustration and Print Expo. Here’s a bit more info.
TheatreSquared’s show Detroit ’67 continues this weekend. Phunbags Comedy Improv are back in action at Six Twelve Coffee House. Local 90s country tribute Gone Country is playing Tin Roof. Local Fleetwood Mac tribute Deepwood Mac is playing at Prairie Street Live.
