State wants feedback on widening Highway 112 from Fayetteville to Tontitown

The Arkansas Department of Transportation is asking for feedback about an upcoming project to widen a 4-mile stretch of Arkansas Highway 112 from Howard Nickel Road in Fayetteville to just south of U.S. Highway 412 in Tontitown.

A public meeting is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 at Mount Comfort Church of Christ, located at 3249 W. Mount Comfort Road in Fayetteville. Those attending can look at materials, ask questions and provide comments.

Materials are also available online where input will be accepted on the project website through Friday, Dec. 30.

The proposed plan is to widen the roadway to a four-lane divided highway with a 5-foot sidewalk on one side and a 12-foot sidepath on the other.

A total of seven roundabouts are included on the preliminary plans, as well turnaround locations at quarter-mile intervals. Work will also include storm sewer installation, erosion control, earthwork, and new asphalt overlay.
