It’s the Friday after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday, otherwise known as Most of Y’all Have Serious Turkey Hangovers Day. Celebrate.
As a result, the calendar is a little lighter than normal around Fayetteville, but there’s still some pretty good options if you need to get and about this weekend.
Some local musicians are coming together to raise funds for one of their own this weekend. Handmade Moments, Dana Louse & The Glorious Birds, Noah Richmond’s Little Monster, Cindy Woolf, and others are set to perform a Thanksgiving weekend show on Friday, Nov. 25 at George’s Majestic Lounge to raise funds for musician Mark Bilyeu (Big Smith, The Creek Rocks), who recently suffered a stroke. Admission to the show is $15, and proceeds will go directly to Mark and his wife Cindy as he recovers. Here’s more info.
Also at George’s this weekend, there will be a happy hour performance by local supergroup, Isayah’s Allstars on Friday night, and locals the Boston Mountain Playboys return to the stage Saturday night. Here’s ticket info for George’s shows.
The Nutcracker is back at Walton Arts Center. There are four chances to see the show this weekend, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday night shows, and a Saturday matinee. The shows are sold out though, so hopefully y’all planned ahead for this one.
Also in performances,TheatreSquared’s comedy Stones in His Pockets is playing throughout the weekend. Here’s ticket info for that.
On Sunday night, Maxine’s Tap Room will close out the weekend with a cool show featuring musicians Fritz Hutchison and Trevor Turla. The show starts at around 7 p.m.
