Salvation Army accepting Angel Tree donations through Dec. 5

Angel Tree in a Walmart store (Salvation Army)

The Salvation Army will accept donations through its annual Angel Tree program through Dec. 5 across Northwest Arkansas.

Trees decorated with Angel Tree tags are located in various Walmart and Sam’s Club stores across the region.

The tags contain a child’s first name, age, gender and gift wishes. Donors may “adopt” an Angel by selecting a tag and filling a bag with the requested items. The bags are then distributed to parents in time for Christmas along with a Christmas meal.

The deadline for returning gifts bought for Angels is Monday, Dec. 5.

Volunteers are also needed to work in the Salvation Army’s warehouse to help process and sort the donated gifts. Available dates to volunteer include all weekdays though Dec. 14. To volunteer, visit signup.com/go/JiCBCCw or email [email protected].

The 53-year program, which provides Christmas gifts and food to underprivileged families, is expected to help over 2,100 area children this year.
