Aw hail nog.

The biggest egg nog event of the year, and maybe the century, is coming up this weekend in Fayetteville.

Of course, we’re talking about the annual Nog Off egg nog making championship happening on Sunday, Dec. 4 at Maxine’s Tap Room.

This year’s event features some of the city’s most talented nog makers and nog crafters, including the hosts Maxine’s Tap Room, along with Pinpoint, Mojo’s Pints & Pies, Leverett Lounge, Cheers at the OPO, Infusion, Fox Trail Distillery, and one anonymous nog maker.

Here’s how it works. Attendees can stop by for a flight of the 8 egg nogs created by the local establishments above, and will be given a ballot. After that, they’ll taste the delicious creations and cast their vote for their favorites.

Flights cost $15, and proceeds from the event benefit the Maxine’s Legacy Fund, the newly established legacy endowment created in honor of the late entrepreneur and proprietor of Maxine’s, Maxine Miller. Here’s more about the new fund.

The event begins at around 6 p.m. on Sunday night.
