‘Tis the season for holiday shows.
Local symphony orchestra SoNA will perform their annual Christmas shows, including two performances of their holiday concert along with the return of their family-oriented show The Snowman on Dec. 10-11 this weekend.
The holiday shows kick off on Saturday, Dec. 10 with A Very SoNA Christmas performances set for 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Walton Arts Center. The show, created to “celebrate the beauty and magic of the season with a mix of holiday favorites,” will feature a collaboration with SoNA Singers, UA Inspirational Chorale, and guest soloist Lenora Green-Turner.
In addition, the orchestra will perform a live score to the holiday classic animated film The Snowman at 2 p.m. on Sunday, also at Walton Arts Center.
“All of us remember what it was like as a child to wish that our favorite toys or stuffed animals would come to life, in fact to believe they would!” said SoNA music director Paul Haas. “This silent film — accompanied by an extraordinary score for virtuosic orchestra — brings that magical thought alive in a way that captivates both young and old alike.”
Tickets to A Very SoNA Christmas range from $36-$60, and tickets to The Snowman: A Family Concert are $10.
