(Courtesy graphic)Three local restaurants are hosting a food drive this week to help Fayetteville Public School students and families in need.
Local restaurants Theo’s, East Side Grill, and Southern Food Company are hosting a “Fill the Pantry” food drive to support take home meals distributed by the school system to families over the holidays.
From the Facebook post announcing the drive:
Five years ago, we began partnering with the Fayetteville Public Schools to help fill their pantry over the holiday break for students & families that qualify for the Free & Reduced Lunch Program. During the holiday break, students are sent home with 18-gallon tubs filled with food and other essential items to ensure they receive the nutrition and resources they usually receive at school.
Each year, FPS assembles bins of food to send home with students in need, to ensure that no child goes hungry during the holidays.
All three restaurants will be accepting donations through Tueday, Dec. 13. Theo’s is located at 318 Campbell Ave, East Side Grill is at 1838 N Crossover Rd, and Southern Food Company is at 3575 W Wedington Dr #3.
In addition to food items, the drive will also focus on soups, toothbrushes, and other hygiene items needed this year. The list of items the drive will focus on is below.
