Who’s ready for a snowball fight? It’s not supposed to snow or anything, we just want to know who wants to have a battle for if/when it does snow, so we have a good idea of what our competition looks like.
Anyway, it’s Friday again. Here are some things you could do this weekend if you don’t have a work Christmas party or something you have to go to.
There are several holiday-related things happening around town. TheatreSquared’s show “A Christmas Carol” is playing through Christmas Eve. T2 is also wrapping up the run of “Stones in His Pockets” this weekend. They also have a family-oriented hot cocoa social on Sunday night. It’s free.
Walton Arts Center has a show called Femeninas: The Songs of Latin American Women on Friday night, and a holiday show featuring country artist Martina McBride singing some classic holiday tunes on Sunday.
George’s Majestic Lounge has holiday shows this weekend as well, with Boom Kinetic on Saturday Night and The Hamiltones and Funk Factory on Saturday.
The skydiving Santa event at the Arkansas Air and Military Museum has been rescheduled for Saturday morning (weather permitting again). Maybe check the website before you head out there?
There’s even a holiday-themed running event. It’s called the Jingle Bell Jog 5K, and it’s at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks on Saturday morning.
In comedy, Bobcat Goldthwait is at The Grove comedy club in Lowell. There are four shows in total on Friday and Saturday. Here’s the link for more.
In other Bobcat news, local band Foggy Bobcat is set to perform at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Saturday night on a four-band bill with Chainsaw Lassy, The Big Sad, and Town House Fire.
It’s the last weekend for the Farmers’ Market holiday market on the square, and there’s a last-minute market with 15 local artists on Sunday.
And finally, you could watch “Mindcage,” the new movie filmed in Fayetteville. It’s playing in local theaters this weekend.
There’s more below. Have as much fun as you can.
