A fire broke out on Christmas morning at a commercial building that’s home to several businesses in downtown Fayetteville.

Firefighters were dispatched to the building at 241 W. Spring St. at 7:13 a.m. Sunday, according to city dispatch logs.

Crews first reported heavy smoke upon arrival, but flames soon engulfed the building which affected its structural stability and forced firefighters to move from an aggressive interior attack to defensive tactics, according to a social media post by the department.

The building is home to WR Hair Salon, Otis Elevator Company and MidSouth Training Academy, according to a portfolio page on the Houses, Inc. property management website.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
