As they say in New Orleans, and certainly sometimes in France, and in parts of Canada on occasion, and in French class at times, and other places where they speak French, or when English speaking folks are talking about Mardi Gras, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”

After a couple years hiatus due to the pandemic, Fayetteville’s Mardi Gras parade will return to downtown Fayetteville this winter for its 30th anniversary.

The parade will wind its way from the Fayetteville square, and then down Block Avenue and Dickson Street with costumes, floats, and beads. This year’s parade Grand Marshal is Jerrmy Gawthrop, organizer of Fayetteville Roots and co-owner of Woodstone Pizza.

The King and Queen of Fayetteville Mardi Gras this year will be Michelle Hale & Jon Rose of the Krewe of Barkus.

Fat Tuesday festivities will take place on Feb. 21.

Those looking to participate in the parade can enter a float, vehicle, or walking group by signing up at fayettevillemardigras.com. You can also create your own Krewe!

The organization is also seeking sponsors for this year’s event. For more information, visit fayettevillemardigras.com.
