Bill Callahan coming to Clapp Auditorium March 10

Songwriter and lo-fi music pioneer Bill Callahan is coming to Fayetteville this spring.

The Drag City recording artist will perform at Mount Sequoyah’s Clapp Auditorium on Friday, March 10, local promoter Roger Barrett of On The Map Shows announced today.

Callahan has been making music for the better part of the last three decades, first under the name Smog with Cynthia Dall, and later as a solo artist. He has recorded over 20 albums, most recently his 2022 releaseYTI?A?? that came out back on October. He also recently collaborated with Will Oldham (Palace Brothers, Bonnie Prince Billy) on a pandemic project called Blind Date Party released in 2021.

Pascal Kerong’A is also on the bill.

The show is part of an impressive lineup of upcoming shows for On the Map, including Big Thief Feb. 10 at George’s, Water Liars March 25 at George’s, Tenci at George’s April 9, and Shame at George’s May 28. Other announcements are expected soon.

Tickets to Bill Callahan’s performance are $27.50 in advance, on sale now. If tickets remain the day of show, they’ll go up to $30.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 8 p.m. It’s an all-ages show.
