The Running of the Hogs is set to return for a sixth year on Saturday, March 11.

The event, hosted by University Recreation and the Arkansas Alumni Association, will feature a 5k/10k race, as well as a new 1-mile option called the Hog Jog, in which participants are encouraged to walk, jog, or run.

Both in-person and virtual options are available for all three races. Virtual participants will have the flexibility to complete any route of their choosing, including the official race route on Strava titled “Running of the Hogs.” Race signs will be placed at the start and finish line, as well as throughout the course to guide virtual racers through the route from March 11-19.

Registration for the 5k/10k races are $30 for adults, $20 for U of A students, and $20 for youth ages 13-17. The Hog Jog registration fee is $15, and children under 12 can register for free with a participating adult. The same prices apply to virtual races. Online registration is open now.

Races will start at the Bud Walton Arena West Lawn. The 10k event starts at 8 a.m., followed by the 5k race at 8:15 a.m. The Hog Jog will begin at around 9 a.m. Awards will be given to the top three 5k/10k in-person finishers for each registration classification.

Participants will be required to sign a Running of the Hogs waiver, and each participant will receive a race box that includes the official ROTH short-sleeve shirt and race sticker, along with promotional materials from the race sponsors.

Those interested in volunteering to assist with the race can sign up through the Running of the Hogs GivePulse. If you have any questions, you can email [email protected].
