UA School of Art to host grand opening for new Studio and Design Center

Studio and Design Center (UA School of Art)

The University of Arkansas will celebrate the opening of the School of Art’s new Studio and Design Center during a grand opening ceremony that will include community tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.

The new facility is located at the southeast corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Hill Avenue in the university’s Windgate Art and Design District in south Fayetteville.

The 154,000-square-foot center is home to various studio art program areas, like ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and the graphic design program.

Visitors at the event can tour the center and purchase art from registered student organizations.

Parking is limited, so attendees are encouraged to park at the nearby Fayetteville High School (994 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) and take a free shuttle to the center.

The building includes a new Arsaga’s coffee shop, which will be open throughout the day. The first 100 attendees will receive free Pedal Pops, according to a news release.
