Fred Armisen is coming to Fayetteville this summer.

The comedian, actor, and musician will bring his show “Comedy For Musicians But Everyone is Welcome” to George’s Majestic Lounge on Sunday, Aug. 6. It’s another show from local promoter Roger Barrett and his On The Map project.

This show, which began as “Stand-up for Drummers,” is geared towards those who are musically inclined, but any fan of Armisen’s should enjoy the performance.

The Portlandia star and SNL alum was the drummer and bandleader for Late Night With Seth Meyers and has a lengthy musical history — including time with punk band Trenchmouth, Blue Man Group, Les Savy Fav, Matthew Sweet and Devo.

He frequently blends music with his comedy, including punk music impressions and jokes that “only musicians will understand” segments on late-night TV.

Fayetteville residents might remember that Armisen was one of the members of a fictional Saturday Night Live band called The Harkin Brothers who
closed the 2016 season with a skit/song called “Summertime in Fayetteville.”
