Ales & Tails crawfish and craft beer festival planned in Fayetteville

Mudbugs, crawfish, crayfish, crawdads, and freshwater lobsters.

It doesn’t matter what you call them, those weird little creatures are delicious, and later this month, a new festival devoted to them will debut in Fayetteville.

The first ever Ales & Tails crawfish festival is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Fayetteville Town Center.

The event, organized by local restauranteurs Maudie Schmitt, Carla Williams and Brandon Karn, will also include craft beers from local and regional breweries such as Core, Saddlebock, Crown Valley, and others.

A $25 ticket includes a pound of crawfish, a souvenir pilsner glass, and unlimited beer samples. A $45 VIP ticket gets you the same, plus access to the indoor area featuring crawfish dishes prepared by local chefs from Apple Blossom Brewing Co., Z’s Pizza, Hammontree’s, Cafe Rue Orleans and others.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the ALS Association’s Arkansas chapter to fight Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
