Local songwriter Ashtyn Barbaree will play the penultimate Gulley Park Concert Series show of the season tonight (July 13).

The local singer and multi-instrumentalist who performs a set of soulful folk originals sprinkled with a few covers will be joined by a group of all-stars from the School of Rock to open the show.

It’s the second-to-last performance of the year in the show series, since the Funk Factory show and Kidz Night event was rescheduled to July 20 due to extreme heat on the original date earlier this year.

For those unfamiliar, the concert series is organized by the city’s Parks & Recreation Department, and features free outdoor live music with plenty of room for picnic blankets and lawn chairs throughout the fields surrounding the gazebo stage at Gulley Park in east Fayetteville.

The music starts at 7 p.m., and the concerts are free and open to the public. Coolers are welcome for those who’d like to pack snacks or dinner, but food vendors are also usually set up around the park.

The full lineup is below. For a bit more information about the event, visit www.fayetteville-ar.gov/concerts.
