Cohen / Barth / Wilson Jazz Trio (NAJS Fundraiser)

When: Saturday, Jun 25, 2022 at 6:30 pm
Where: Roots HQ

In a special, one-time-only concert event, the Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society has assembled three iconic musicians (each of whom have performed for us over the years) to perform in a brand new trio. In what promises to be a tremendous musical feast, we bring all three accomplished musicians together to share ideas during this first-time ever collaboration between Bruce Barth, Anat Cohen, and Steve Wilson.

Get your tickets now for this incredible, intimate concert at Roots Headquarters. They will sell fast!

Your ticket includes beverages and hors d’oeuvres preceding the performances, provided by Case Dighero & Edible Culture and Liquor World – hosted by Kathy Thompson in her artist studio, next door to Roots HQ.

This concert is a fundraiser for the Jazz Education Fund. Your ticket purchase supports NAJS music scholarships and education programs.

Bruce Barth, Village Voice Jazz pianist and composer, has been sharing his music with listeners the world over for more than twenty-five years. In addition to traveling widely performing his own music, he has been recruited by singers Tony Bennett, Luciana Souza and Karrin Alyson to serve as their accompanist. In a recent review in the Newark Star-Ledger, Zan Stewart writes “No one sounds quite like Barth. His solos are characterized by robust swing, his ability to tell a story, and by his rich, beguiling sound.”

Anat Cohen has been declared Clarinetist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association every year since 2007 and has also been named the top clarinetist in both the readers and critics polls in DownBeat for multiple years running.

Steve Wilson has attained ubiquitous status in the studio and on the stage with the greatest names in jazz. A bandleader in his own right, Jazz Times calls him the consummate saxophonist-composer and one of the finest alto and soprano saxophonists of our time.

This concert is part of the NAJS Summer Jazz Concert Series.
