Fayetteville Half Marathon maps and street closures

Whether you’re running in one of this weekend’s races or not, there’s still a possibility you’ll be involved if you live near any of the courses. Especially if you’re stuck in your driveway for a half hour while the runners pass.

The first Fayetteville Half Marathon is set for Sunday morning, but there are three other related races including the Magic Mile on Saturday.

According to city officials, more than 700 people from 15 states are expected to participate in the weekend’s events.

Billed as “one of the fastest one-mile courses in the world,” the Magic Mile is an all downhill race from the Fayetteville square to the bottom of Dickson Street beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

On Sunday, the half-marathon begins at 8 a.m., the 5K begins at 8:15 a.m., and the 1-mile fun run starts at 8:20 a.m.

The finish line and post-race celebration for all Sunday races is the John McDonnell Outdoor Track center on the UA campus. Runners will enter the track and complete a lap inside the facility to end each race.
