If you thought the folks behind the Fayetteville Roots Festival were finished adding artists to the lineup months ago, you were wrong buddy.

Organizers announced today that they’ve added jazz-grass Austin, Tex. band MilkDrive and Okemah, Okla. singer/songwriter John Fullbright to the festival lineup.

MilkDrive will perform two sets during the festival, including a Friday night set at the Walton Arts Center’s Starr Theatre and a Friday night set at George’s. The band blends elements of traditional, old-time music with improvisational elements, and is self-described as a “distinctive acoustic experience that crosses genres, geographies, and generations.”

Fullbright will perform Saturday night at the Starr Theater. Hailing from the home of Woody Guthrie in Okemah, Oklahoma, Fullbright represented his hometown well drawing raves from his performances at SXSW this year. The 25 year-old songwriter recently released his debut album “From the Ground Up,” which has also been well received by critics.

The Fayetteville Roots Festival is set for August 23-26, and includes around 30 artists performing at various venues around Fayetteville. Headliners include David Grisman Folkjazz Trio, John Prine, Darrell Scott, The Steel Wheels, Hoots And Hellmouth and Pokey Lafarge and the South City Three.

Festival passes range from $149-249, and single-show tickets are available for $25 for the George’s shows, and $69 for Friday or Saturday at Walton Arts Center. According to organizers, less than 50 each of the 2-day and 4-day festival passes remain.
