The Little Craft Show won’t return in 2016

One of the most anticipated annual events in Fayetteville won’t return in 2016.

The folks behind The Little Craft Show this week announced the holiday indie craft sale is on indefinite hiatus.

The event, which began in 2011 as a small show, had grown into a multi-day event held annually around the holidays on the Fayetteville square. Organizers also held a second multi-day show in Springdale in the spring in recent years.

Event creator Amber Perrodin said in a notice posted on Facebook this week that her new full-time job working as programming director for the Downtown Springdale Alliance and other factors led to the decision.

In March of this year, my love for event production and my hometown of Springdale, Arkansas collided and I was presented with the incredible opportunity to plan events as the new Programming Director for the Downtown Springdale Alliance. With this exciting new role in place I found myself spinning a lot of plates. I mean….A LOT.

It’s with a very nervous, clear, and hopeful heart that we will not be hosting The Little Craft Show until further notice.

Perrodin said she’s not sure what this means for the show in the long term, and that she’ll be involved in an event called “Handmade by Few” scheduled to be part of the upcoming Made By Few conference planned for this fall in Bentonville.

Perrodin concluded her announcement with a quote from Garrison Keillor, the longtime host of the long-running NPR radio program, A Prairie Home Companion.

“I have a lot of other things that I want to do.”
