The lineup at the Walmart AMP this summer just got a lot more soulful.

That’s because the venue today announced that legendary R&B group The O’Jays will be in town for a show on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The band, led by friends and longtime collaborators Walter Williams and Eddie Levert, are probably best known for their singles Backstabbers, Love Train, For the Love of Money, I Love Music, Livin’ For the Weekend, Use Ta Be My Girl, among others.

Over their long career, O’Jay’s have earned 10 gold albums, nine platinum albums and 10 No. 1 hits. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, and honored by BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.

Locals The Funk Factory will open the show. Doors open at 6 p.m., and music is set to begin at 7 p.m.

It’s a Walmart show, sponsored by the company’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, so tickets are pretty inexpensive. Lawn tickets are just $5, and seats are $10.

They’ll also probably go pretty fast. They’re now on sale at amptickets.com, or you could also call the box office at 479-443-5600.
