Upright Citizens Brigade featuring Horatio Sanz, Matt Besser coming to UA Sept. 27

Former Saturday Night Live star Horatio Sanz and Little Rock-born comedian Matt Besser are coming to the University of Arkansas next week.

The two will bring their Upright Citizens Brigade touring show to town for a performance at the Verizon Ballroom in the Arkansas Union at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27.

Besser and Sanz helped found the UCB as an improv comedy group in Chicago in the early 1990s. The group later moved to New York, and made three seasons of a television show by the same name that aired on Comedy Central from 1998 to 2000.

Sanz is best known for his eight years as part of the cast of SNL, and Besser has appeared in several TV series and films, including Parks and Recreation, Reno 911!, and others.

The Upright Citizens Brigade touring show is totally improvised, featuring Besser and Sanz playing off each other to create a show that is absolutely unique every time they perform.

The performance, sponsored by University Programs, is free and open to UA students with an ID. Admission to the general public is also free, and subject to space availability.
