A Fayetteville-based band has new music out.

Local jam band Vintage Pistol’s latest album “Modern Medicine” was officially released via streaming platforms on Friday, Oct. 13.

The record was recorded late last year at Fayetteville studio, Cosmic Cowboy, and features seven songs including the first single, “Long Way Home.”

The band also shot a video for the single (see below), filmed in a single shot in guitarist Walt Blythe’s garden.

“Long way home is a song about internal struggle, about the ability we have to think ourselves out of things,” said Taylor Smith, who co-write the song with Blythe, of the band’s first single. “The brain is a funny thing, most of us over-think things, especially in our relationships with others. This can be good and bad. As the song says, you can “think you know somebody”, until you don’t.”

The band has been on a run playing several dates around the south this month in support of the new record. They’ve also played several festivals recently, including Spaceberry Music Festival, Rochester Lilac Festival, Summer Camp Music Fest, and MoRoots Music Fest.

They’re due back in Fayetteville for a show at George’s Majestic Lounge on Dec. 22.
