Who wants ice cream?

We ask, because The Washington County Historical Society’s 44th annual Ice Cream Social is this weekend.

The event, which runs from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 on the historic Headquarter’s House grounds (118 E. Dickson St.), aims to raise money and awareness for the society’s educational programs, dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of Washington County history.

Attendees can enjoy homemade cakes, Hiland Dairy ice cream and live music by local bands East of Zion and Walter Schmidt & Arkansas Chowder. Youth participants in the historical societies’ Heritage School will also perform.

Admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for kids 6-12, and free for kids under 6. Family tickets are also available for $15.
